Food bank culinary program provides meals for community, training for chefs

After spending years working as a direct support professional for the intellectually disabled and as a life coach, Annie Pretlow decided to take her life in a new direction.

Following in the footsteps of her daughter, Pretlow, of Spring Grove in Surry County, enrolled in the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank’s culinary program several months ago and is one of four graduating from the program June 16.
